New Jersey Permits Testimony of Drug Recognition Expert in DUI Trials
A Special Master Judge has determined that a drug recognition expert (DRE) may provide testimony regarding the intoxication of an individual at trial for driving under the influence of drugs. The main issue was whether the DRE was scientifically reliable testimony in a driving under the influence trial. Judge Joseph Lisa has determined that in fact the testimony of a DRE is reliable and admissible at trial.htt
